I purchased one of these from another vender back in 2007 or so. I was surprised by the level of detail; it is more like a scale model than a toy in appearance. Some of the finer details break off easily but this does not affect the function of the boat. It looks very much like a Russian Sovremenny Class DDG in 1/200 scale. After having it for a while I disassembled it and painted more to scale, it looks great as is but with a nice scale model like paint job it is even better.
The boat runs real well forward, reverse, left and right. There is no "throttle" just go or no go. The boat runs well in a small lake and does not get too upset if the water is not glass smooth. There is no steering trim adjustment so it may not run in a real straight line.
It has a neat safety feature: the motors will not run unless the boat is in the water or some other form of conductor touching both propeller shafts. I found this out when bench testing the boat before I used it in...

RC Bimarck
This boat looks great and is easy for kids to operate; it's also very fast. It sits pretty low in the water and looks like it is going to get swamped, but it doesn't. My son (10 yrs) cracked the bow a bit on a rock the second time he used it. I have epoxied it and also used some silicone seal to help cushion future blows. The bow does not seem to be very strong but it did survive the impact (I didn't see how hard it was). Several of the little pieces that snap onto the boat with small holes need to be either glued on or the holes filled in, as they appear to let water into the hull. I would still probably buy this again.

Bought this as a gift to a family of three boys. The toy performs better than expected, moves rapidly and with assurance through the waters of a large community pool. The problem was that the boys ages 2,5 and 8 took the controller into the pool and shorted out the box. I had given this as a gift hence I did not have the instruction booklet and didn't know what to do when it got dipped in the pool. Also, certain parts (plastic) were clipped onto the frame, they needed to be cemented, they popped off during the trial run. Overall, was satisfied, the price was right, just need to find another control unit
