Fun model for Toyota enthusiast
This is a great model of a fantastic truck from Aoshima. There are hundreds of parts and not all of them need to be used. You can customize how much lift you really want because the body lift pieces are optional, as are the suspension lift pieces. You can even build this with the stock suspension. The only downside to doing this is wheel and tire fitment. The kit only comes with one set of wheels and tires that are scaled TSL Super Swampers in approx 35" (scale) with rims that look like 15x12 (scale). If you can find other rims and tires from other kits then you can do that. So where is the stock Toyota truck kit? I have a 05 Toyota Tundra DC 4WD in real life and the frame/driveline layout is similar. Given that the thing is IFS, I can get a feel for where things need to be tweaked to get a suspension mod in.
The only bummer with my kit was that the polyethlene bushings were missing from the box. I emailed the Aoshima company in Japan about getting these. Time will...
