Five Stars, With a Catch...
Let me start out by saying that I am a big ElectrixRC (ECX) fan. My first hobby grade RC was purchased this past year from Electrix, a Circuit. I quickly then added a Ruckus, another Circuit, and a Boost to the family before snatching up this Smash.
With this said, the Smash is a...well...smash (yes, pun intended) with one small catch, which I'll get to near the end of the review.
Build quality of the RC is standard Electrix fare. That's to say that it isn't anything special, but it is very solidly built. The plastic that these trucks is made out of is relatively flexible, which allows beginners to get some good crashes in without having to purchase new parts. Trust me, I am certainly glad that my first Circuit was made out of this stuff...I would have been buying new parts every time I drove it if it was made out of anything more rigid!! The truck is clearly based off of the Losi Mini-T model, which is another brand and vehicle that is owned by Horizon...

Great hobby product!

I got mine for about 75 bucks. This is a GREAT intro to the hobby product world. I have had mine for about a week, and it is my favorite toy(I'm 12) that i have. i originally owned a tyco rc corvette that was great, but i wanted something i could upgrade, had speed, and could take a hit. This is living up to its reputation. I live near a really big running oval,and i took it for a spin there. i had to run to keep up whith it. Its range is amazing, too. you can probbably hit 19 mph at 100 yards.

ECX Smash little truck big fun
The ECX smash is a great rc truck for the price. It comes with both AA battery case for use with AA's and a rechargeable NiMh battery which makes it go pretty fast even drifts in turns. I have flipped, crashed and jumped it of ramps nothing broke only scratches. This truck is definitely better than anyting found at Walmart or Toysrus.
