Great item for Cars fans but price is not right
This is a must buy if your child is a Cars fan. The truck is very durable; after 3 months of constant playing, it still works like day-1. Opening it might be a little tricky at the beginning for your child, but they learn it pretty quickly; just show them how to insert some pressure on the top of the truck in the mid section. Overall, great toy. The missing star comes from seeing almost the same set at Toys R'Us for a better price and that set included Uncle Topolino, Guido, and Luigi as a bonus (a $15 value).

Fun
My son is obsessed with Cars so he really loves this truck. The rear door is a bit tough to open, especially for a young child. A lot of the parts within the trailer open up so they can be lost if care is not taken. He hasn't broken it yet so that's a fairly good sign of it's durability. Overall, it's a good buy.
not such a good buy
Regarding transaction through Amazon and the delivery of the item.....EXCELLENT! Regarding the item itself: I bought this item for my grandson's 4th birthday the first part of Sept., here we are in the first part of Oct. and it's already falling apart. The trailer is fairly difficult to open and everything in the trailer is what's falling apart. I personally don't have a good opinion of this item, I think it's very cheaply made and too pricey for what it is.....but my grandson loved it while it lasted.

Good age appropriate toy
I bought this toy for my three year old son as a present from his newly born baby sister. In a word, he "LOVES" this crane truck. He has played with it incessantly since he received it a few days ago. He even tried to sleep with it one night. Unfortunately (or fortunately), this truck is so huge that he had to settle for having it by his bedside at night.

While my son's enjoyment of the truck is ultimately paramount, as a parent I have the following comments for other parents who may be thinking about investing in this truck for their child.

THE GOOD:
- Truck is HUGE (boom is 53" tall when fully extended)
- Truck is a highly accurate model. Right down to the counterweights.
- Although made entirely of plastic (with the exception of the tires), the materials are thick and have put up with some rough play for a while.
- Bruder offers spare parts at relatively good prices.

The BAD:
- Price. Although big and accurate,...

THE RIGHT TOY FOR THE RIGHT CHILD
This is a massive plastic toy truck that is amazingly well detailed. If your child is going to smash it into a brick wall or throw it down a flight of stairs then you better pass up on it as it will never stand up to that kind of abuse. If you have a child that loves any kind of construction equipment and has some respect for their toys your money will be well spent on this item. I think the age group Bruder recommends for these "Pro Series" is a little young for this line of vehicles. You should start them out with the less expensive "RoadMax" line of toy trucks as they have less detailed items to break off and see how they do. If your child still shows interest as they grow then upgrade to the higher end 'Pro Series" models. This particular truck is so nice that we decided it was going to be an inside play toy only even though Bruder says it's safe for outside also. My son loves it and plays with it for hours but I still had to show him how to operate some of the features on the...

Great toy for boys who love trucks!
I purchased this toy from Amazon after my son saw it in a catalog of an expensive toy store. He continuously asked for it and I found it on Amazon at a cost significantly less than the toy store catalog. It arrived quickly and perfectly - no damage whatsoever, especially given the size of this truck! (This is a large truck about 3 feet long and includes a backhoe.) My son adores this toy and plays with it daily. It is made well - I have had very good experiences with the "Bruder" line of toys - made well, durable, and very realistic.

If you have a child who really likes truck, you simply can't go wrong with this truck (or any other trucks in the Bruder line). I've found that Bruder trucks are more realistic looking, which is key for my 3 year old.

Overall, I would highly recommend this truck.
the best truck ever
I bought this truck for my 3 1/2 year old. He is crazy about Bruder trucks. It has put up with alot of abuse. I highly recommend Bruder toys to anyone, who's child loves trucks, farming or construction equipment. These toys are wonderfully crafted and loaded with detail. I am sure that my son will enjoy this truck for a couple more years.
